From 28 to 29 March 2024, Bafoussam was the venue for a consultation workshop on the proper implementation of the authorising officers’ programmes for the 2024 financial year.
As is traditional, the Road Fund organises such a workshop every year, in order to find solutions to difficulties associated with the execution of programmes using resources earmarked for road maintenance. This consultation framework plays a vital role in that it makes it possible to: i) synchronise projects from previous and current financial years, ii) take account of seasonal constraints, iii) promote best practice to avoid rejection in the course of the procedure, and iv) monitor the maturity of projects to enable them to be implemented on time.
The workshop also provided an opportunity to reflect on the conditions that need to be met for a successful implementation of the 2024 programme, with particular emphasis on the maturity of the projects, the expected results and the key dates for the award and implementation of these projects. The meeting was attended by authorising officers, the MINFI, the MINMAP, some Mayors and President of Regional Councils.
