It is within the framework of a workshop to launch the operating and equipment budget for the year 2023, that the staff of the Road Fund met from 15 to 17 February 2023 at the United Hotel in Mbankomo.
The overall objective of the workshop was to draw up a consolidated action plan for the execution of the 2023 budget, integrating the requirements related to the expenditure execution process and indicators allowing for an objective evaluation of the activities for a monitoring of the performance of stakeholders.
The launch of the Fund’s operating budget this year falls within a context marked by several major events, namely the promulgation of Law No. 2022/007 of 27 April 2022 on the protection of the national road heritage and the promotion of the Road Fund to the second category of the classification of public establishments in Cameroon, in accordance with order No. 00000002/MINFI of 3 January 2023.
During the three days of work, participants mainly help in identifying of the persons in charge of programmes, actions and activities, drafting action plans by budgetary units integrating the various phases of the expenditure execution, the details, the operational and strategic indicators, the consistency of the various action plans and finally key concerns for an effective collaboration with the Specialised Financial Controller of the Road Fund.
Apart from the development of the action plan, the staff benefited from the expertise of the Ministry of Finance on the main innovations of the finance law and the fiscal innovations in the framework of expenditure execution; as well as the Ministry of Trade on the 2023 Price list.
At the end of this working session, the participants were invited to a more harmonious, constructive and synergistic collaboration in order to achieve the performance objectives of the Road Fund for the year 2023.
