Construction of Ring Road Resumes

Construction work on the Babessi-Kumbo stretch of the Ring Road Project of the North West Region that was suspended some two years ago has resumed. The Senior Divisional Officer for Bui, Nzeki Theophile announced the resumption during a sensitization meeting in his conference hall recently.

The SDO told stakeholders who included administrative, political, traditional, religious authorities and technical service heads amongst others that the road construction company had a contractual duration of six months to complete the uncompleted portions from Babesi in Ngoketunjia Division to Kumbo in Bui.

The civil administrator appealed on all the active forces in Kumbo and beyond to give the construction firm their maximum collaboration so that the project can be realized in record time. He told his audience that the Ring Road project was their own share of the national cake, justifying why the population should facilitate the quick execution of the project.
“The owner of the road is the Bui people. This is your own share of the national cake”, Nzeki explained, warning technical services against interferences that may delay the work.

Kumbo council second deputy mayor, Fai Paul Sunjo appealed to the construction company to carry out a praiseworthy job for posterity. He observed that the Bui stretch of the Ring Road Project was comparably narrower with so many bends making it more prone to accidents.

The representative of the construction company said the company was back in Bui to finish the execution of the contract it signed in 2010. He said t heir own portion of the project will end at the Kimbo-Square neigbourhood and pleaded with the population to assist them complete the exercise on time. — Source :
